Born April 29, 1971 - American actress.
She attended Puget Sound University and graduated in 1993, before moving to San Francisco to study at the Conservatory Theater. In 2000, she made her screen debut in an episode of the TV series Diagnosis: Murder, and in the following years she actively appeared on television and in films.
Stanchfield is best known for her roles as April Green in Jericho (2006-2007) and Helen Bishop in Mad Men (2007-2008). Prior to that, she starred in the daytime soap opera General Hospital, and later appeared with guest roles on the series Private Practice, The Mentalist, Ghost Whisperer, Castle, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation New York and "How I Met your mother". Between 2006 and 2012, she had a recurring role in the TV series "Naval Police: Special Department" .
Since 2012, Stanchfield has played the role of Abby Whelan in the ABC television series Scandal, directed by Shonda Rhimes.
