Laura had her first acting experience at the age of five, when she began taking part in various theatrical productions. She has appeared in small roles in such projects as "Ghost Whisperer", "Medical Research", "Huff" and "New Joan of Arc". Her more significant roles began with the TV series "Without a trace". Marano was one of the participants in the talk show "Are you smarter than a fifth grader?" on FOX.
In 2010, Laura was cast as the lead female lead Ellie Dawson on the youth sitcom Austin & Ellie, which premiered in 2011 on Disney. In February 2015, the comedy "Pursuit of Beauty" premiered, in which Lee-Allyn Baker also took part. On January 10, 2016, Austin & Ellie officially wrapped up its television show after 4 seasons.
