A few years later, the family moved to the neighboring village of Ecclechill, where the girl was sent to study at the Catholic School of St. Joseph.
After graduating from Makshera's school, she entered the Footsteps Theater School, where she made her debut in the musical Goodbye Girl. Later she took part in the tour with the musical "Annie". Several years later, Sophie McShera earns her BA in Drama from Brunel University, London.
Maksher began her acting career shortly after graduating from university in 2007. Her first works on television were roles in the soap operas "Emmerdale Farm" and "Doctors", as well as the drama "Survivors". In 2009, she joined the cast of the television series Waterloo Street. From 2010 to 2015 she played the role of Daisy Robinson on the television series Downton Abbey.
