Travis began competing in international competitions On February 27, 2008, the Puerto Rico Motorcyclist Association granted him a license to represent the island in competitions. After that, Travis received the same license from the Latin American Motorcycle Community, but with permission to represent all of Latin America.
Travis Alan Pastrana made his first appearance in international competitions on March 15, 2008 at the Latin American Supercross Championships, held in Costa Rica. In qualifying, he overtook the Mexican Eric Valleio, and in the main competitions finished third behind Roberto Castro and Eric Valleio.
On December 31, 2009, Pastrana made a 82-meter jump from the Pine Avenue pier in Long Beach to a floating barge. At a speed of 147 kilometers per hour in his Subaru Impreza STI racing car, he successfully set a new record, which was almost 30.5 meters higher than the previous record of 51.1 meters, set by the equally famous race car driver Ken Block. But his most famous feat is a double backflip at X-GAMES in the summer of 2006, he was the first person to do it in a competition, Tony Hawk captured this moment on his phone.
