Born November 27, 1971, New York, USA - American actor.
From early childhood, Kirk was interested in acting. Acevedo also took part in the school drama club. He is of Puerto Rican and Chinese descent.
After graduating from LaGuardia High School of Performing Arts, Acevedo entered the SUNY Purchase School of Acting (Purchase College). In the 1990s, Acevedo earned a bachelor's degree in theater arts, and after several of his classmates went to audition for the series Prison of Oz, he also auditioned, and subsequently landed the role of an arrested half-madman (spelling together !!!) the leader of the gang, Miguel Alvarez. Acevedo appeared in the following episodes: 1-26; 34-36 and 41-56. In 1997, 1998, 2000 and 2001 he was nominated for an ALMA award for his role in the TV series Prison of Oz.
Among other TV series, Kirk also starred in the TV series The Walking Dead (2013); Into Sight (2013) as Detective Sloane; Law & Order (2005) as Hector Salazar; in the HBO series Brothers in Arms, which was produced by Steven Spielberg. Joseph Toy; New York City Police; 24 hours; The Donnelly Brothers and in the CBS series How the World Turns. Kirk also starred in some films and miniseries Collision with the Earth (2011), Overcoming (2006), Live Bait (2000); Boiler room (2000); A Hectic Dinner (2000); Gina's arrest (1997) and Kirk and Kerry (1997). He voiced Jackie Estacado in The Darkness, a video game adaptation of the comic strip. He also has a recurring role on the FOX television series The Edge. He has been playing the role of FBI Agent Charlie Francis since 2008.
