Born June 26, 1992, Long Beach, California - American actress, singer, and songwriter.
Jennet has three older brothers: Marcus, Scott and Dustin McCurdy. Has Swedish, Irish, French, Italian and Danish roots. She began her television career in 2000, at the age of eight, starring on the MADtv channel. On the set of films, she was inspired by the performance of Harrison Ford in the movie "Hollywood Cops". In 2005, McCurdy was nominated for a Young Actor Award for her role as Haley Campos in Strong Medicine. She also starred in several social advertisements. Between 2007 and 2012, she played the role of Sam Packett in the TV series iCarly, opposite Miranda Cosgrove, Nathan Kress and Jerry Trainor. In 2008 she was again nominated for the Young Actor Award for her roles in the TV series iCarly and The Last Day of Summer. In 2009 she was nominated for the Teen Choice Awards. She also played the role of Bertha in the film Fred, based on Fred Figglehorn. In 2013 she began acting in the TV series "Sam and Cat" with Ariana Grande in the title role.
On August 13, 2014, McCurdy launched her own online series What's Next for Sarah? on the website Vimeo.
In June 2008, McCurdy announced on her official website that she was working on her debut album. The first single So Close was released on March 10, 2009. The second single, Homeless Heart, was released on May 19. The song was released to honor McCurdy's recently deceased friend Cody Waters, who died at the age of nine from brain cancer, and 20% of the proceeds went to the Cody Waters Foundation. In mid-2009, McCurdy signed a deal with country music label Capitol Records Nashville. On April 16, 2010, sample songs from McCurdy's upcoming debut country album were released online. The songs were released in order for fans to vote for the song they think should be McCurdy's first single. Not That Far Away received the most votes, and was released to country radio on May 24, 2010 and June 1 on iTunes. On August 17, 2010, McCurdy released her debut EP, which included the single Not That Far Away and three new songs: Stronger, Put Your Arms Around Someone and Break Your Heart. The iTunes version included the song Me With You as a bonus track. The song Stronger was later included on the compilation Now That's What I Call Music! Vol. 35, released August 31, 2010. McCurdy's second single, Generation Love, was released digitally on March 22, 2011. It was released on radio on April 25, 2011. On February 8, 2012, Capitol Nashville released McCurdy's mini-album of the same name. On June 5, 2012, McCurdy's debut full-length album was released in the iTunes online store. On July 11, 2012, Fanlala released an interview with McCurdy in which she confirmed that she had left Capitol Records Nashville, saying, “I am now in between two projects. I really left Capitol Records recently. I just decided what I would do next. Now I'm working on a new show and figuring out how I'm going to work on my music. " On July 31, 2012, How to Rock released an interview with McCurdy in which she talked about her acting and music career. A follow-up interview was released on August 8 in which McCurdy talked about her musical career.
