Born October 1, 1947 - American actor.
He soon began his television career, making cameo appearances on TV shows such as The Waltons, before making his debut in All the President's Men (1976) .
Collins is best known for his role as the Reverend Eric Camden in The WB's long-running family drama "Seventh Heaven," where he co-starred with Catherine Hicks for eleven seasons, from 1996 to 2007. In addition, he is best known for his roles in Star Trek (1979), Brewster's Millions (1985), First Wives Club (1996) and Blood Diamond (2006). In 1987 he was nominated for an Emmy for his role in the television movie Two Mrs. Grenville .
Collins has appeared in several dozen television shows and films during his career. In the eighties, he starred in several short-lived TV series. In 2010-2011, he had a regular role in the ABC series Extraordinary Family. In recent years, he has been a guest on the series It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Brothers and Sisters, Private Practice, Scandal, and Skies Collapsed. In 2013, he played one of the ex-husbands of the character Susan Lucci in the Lifetime series Treacherous Maids .
Collins was married to actress Faye Grant from 1985 to 2012, and they separated after twenty-seven years of marriage. On October 7, 2014, he confessed to child molestation, at least three young girls. It was later announced that the LAPD had actually launched an investigation against him back in 2012. After these events, scenes with Collins in the movie "Extra 3" were promptly cut.
