Born March 3, 1984, Port Alfred, South Africa - South African singer, actress and rapper. Vocalist of the rap rave group Die Antwoord.
Born in Port Alfred, adopted by the family of a priest. I first tried to make my own recording at the age of 16, when I was in a boarding school. After school, Anri moved to work in Cape Town, where she met her future husband Watkin Tudor Jones (aka Weddy, Ninja and Max Normal), with whom she worked first on the recordings of The Constructus Corporation, and then on the Max Normal project. In 2007, she gave birth to a daughter named Sixteen Jones from Watkin, and in 2011 she adopted a nine-year-old boy, Tokkie. The couple are currently split up. In 2006, after the completion of the Max Normal project, Yolandi formed Die Antwoord with Jones. The third member of the group is DJ Hi-Tek, who almost never appears in the music videos for the group's songs. In 2014, Yolandi co-starred with Jones in Neil Blomkamp's film Chappie. The film was released on March 6, 2015.
