Born February 8, 1984 - American actress, voice actress and comedian. Mother - Penelope Strong, father - Bill Strong, the former head of the Associated Press correspondence office, is now a senior partner in a Chicago-based public relations firm. Strong's parents are divorced. She has a younger brother. As a child, Strong adored Saturday Night Life (SNL), acted out with her friend, and watched old SNL ads on videotapes. "I've had the best commercials and watched them every day." Strong once mentioned that she was influenced by Phil Hartman.
She attended Oak Park and River Forest High School and in her senior year transferred to the Art Academy of Chicago, where she graduated in 2002. Following this, Strong studied acting at the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) and earned her BA in Theater Arts in 2006. After graduating from the California Institute of the Arts, she returned to Chicago, where she studied at the IO Chicago improvisation theater and the training scene of The Second City Conservatory.

On September 15, 2012, Strong made her debut as the lead actress of the second cast of Saturday Night Live. Beginning with season 39, she co-hosted Seth Meyers in the traditional sketch Weekend Update.
