Born November 30, 1982, Calgary, Alberta, Canada is a Canadian actress, director, producer and model.
Elisha has a brother and sister, Jonathan and Leigh-Ann, and grew up in Greenfield Park, near Montreal, Quebec. She graduated from Centennial High School in 2000 and moved to Los Angeles at the age of 17 to pursue an acting career.
At the age of 9, Elisha began modeling for various lines of children's clothing. She first appeared on television in the children's horror show Are You Afraid of the Dark? in a cameo role, then she became a regular participant in this show. She also co-hosted Popular Mechanics for Kids, which was filmed in Montreal. Her participation in the television show caught the attention of the then US First Lady, Hillary Clinton, who invited her to the White House.
Cuthbert played her first film role in the family drama Dancing on the Moon (1997). She also starred in the Canadian television movie Happy Girl (2001), for which she received a Gemini Award.
Soon after her move to Los Angeles, she auditioned for the role of Kim Bauer, daughter of federal agent Jack Bauer, in the television series 24.
In the next film, Neighbor, she got her first major role. The actress had doubts about filming the film, but director Luke Greenfield did not leave her alone. During preparation for filming, Elisha talked to real porn actresses.
Cuthbert appears regularly on FHM Maxim's annual sexiest women lists. She was ranked # 9 in 2003, # 10 in 2004, # 5 in 2005, # 22 in 2006, # 10 in 2007 and # 7 in 2009 on the British edition of Maxim magazine. The American edition ranked her at # 53 in 2003, # 63 in 2004, and # 54 in 2006. In 2006, she stated that she would not act naked for roles in films and magazines, and uses stunt doubles where possible, because "Wants to keep something for himself."
