Born February 14, 1962, New York - American actress.
She has two older sisters, Ziya (born 1959) and Mira (born 1960). Sakina's parents divorced when she was three years old and grew up away from her father, who moved to the UK. Jaffrey graduated from Vassar College in 1984. She studied Mandarin in college and planned to become a translator before pursuing a career as an actress.
In 1991, Jaffrey appeared in Masala with her father, and in 1988 she starred with her mother in Perfect Murder. Among her films, the films Indian in the Closet (1995), The Truth About Charlie (2002) and Fashionable Mommy (2004) stand out.
Jaffrey played the role of US Chief of Staff Linda Vasquez in the first two seasons of the Netflix television series House of Cards. She appeared in five episodes of the second season of Fox's Sleepy Hollow as new Sheriff Lina Reyes, and in 2016 joined the main cast of NBC's Timeless as Agent Denise Christopher.
