Born November 29, 1955 - Canadian comedian, actor, television personality and voice actor.
Born in Willowdale, Toronto, the son of a real estate agent. Has Jewish roots. In his youth he was expelled from school and for some time worked as a carpet seller.
He is best known as the host of the NBC game show Deal or No Deal. Prior to his career as a TV host, Mandel was best known for playing Wayne Fiscus in the medical drama St. Elswehr. He is also well known as the creator and voice actor for the children's animated television series Bobby's World. On June 6, 2009, he received the 2009 Game Show Awards on the Game Show Network. Mandel became a judge on America's Got Talent, replacing David Hasselhoff in season 5 of the show.
Mandel suffers from misophobia (an irrational fear of germs) to such an extent that he does not shake hands with anyone, including his show, unless he is wearing rubber gloves.
On September 4, 2008, Mandel received his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
