Born July 13, 1957, Palm Springs, California is an American screenwriter, director, producer, and actor.

He was brought up in a strict Catholic family and his parents refused to adolescents in many ways - for example, rock was forbidden in the house - and this was simply unbearable for a 60s boy. While his peers listened to The Beatles and Elvis Presley, Cameron worked on textbooks and wrote articles for the school wall newspaper. This, however, allowed him to pass the exams as an external student, skipping two classes at once, however, the boy, for sure, did not always feel happy, not having access to that which fascinated him. And at that time, Crowe was really drawn to music - and he had no choice but to start writing music reviews.

At the age of 15, Cameron is already an accomplished music columnist, getting a job at Rolling Stone magazine. For several years, he has achieved considerable success in this area, having earned authority with articles about his idols - David Bowie, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Eric Clapton, Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin groups. He met many personally.

Around the same time, Crowe became interested in cinema and attempted to write the first script. Directed by Amy Heckerling, Fast Times at Ridgemont High was released in 1982, the first film to be screened by Crowe. The youth film turned out to be one of the best films of the year, and in addition, it launched the career of such famous actors as Nicolas Cage, Sean Penn, Anthony Edwards, Judge Reinhold.

In the director's chair, Crowe made his debut in 1989 with the romantic film Say Something, starring John Cusack. Real worldwide fame comes to Cameron after 7 years thanks to the film "Jerry Maguire". Crowe was first nominated for an Oscar, was left without an award, but took his own at the 2001 ceremony, where he received a statuette for the script of the largely autobiographical film Almost Famous. That year, he removed Tom Cruise in the title role in the drama Vanilla Sky, a remake of Amenabar's film Open Your Eyes. Crowe's film was extremely controversially received by critics, but grossed more than $ 200 million worldwide and became a cult among moviegoers.

Crowe is an ardent Beatle fan. According to him, he gives preference to John from the Lennon-McCartney pair. But Sir Paul sang the title song in "Vanilla Sky" and was even nominated for an Oscar.

Only four years later came the next film by Cameron Crowe - "Elizabethtown". One of the central moments of the film is the journey of the protagonist through the southern states of the USA to the music loved by Cameron Crowe: Elton John, Hollies, Tom Petty.

In November 2011, the film We Bought a Zoo, starring Matt Damon and Scarlett Johansson, was released in America. The picture was favorably received by critics and ordinary viewers.
