Buckley appeared in the 1998 sci-fi thriller Disturbing Behavior, opposite Katie Holmes. In 2005, Buckley was offered the role of Adam Ross in the cult crime drama CSI: NY. He was supposed to have a supporting role, but by the end of the third season in 2007, he was offered a five-year contract. Prior to taking on the role of Adam Ross, Buckley appeared in the original CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.
