August 16, 1930, Oakland, California, USA - March 24, 2010, Los Angeles, USA - American film actor, screenwriter, director, who starred in 135 films and television series. World-class fame was brought to him by his role in "I Spy" in a duet with black comedian Bill Cosby.
The last works in the cinema were the films "Love for Freedom" (2010), "Santa Killer" (2005), "Hunger" (2001) and "Compromising" (2000). Culp also starred in several episodes in the Colombo detective series. Voiced by Wallace Breen, a character in the Half-Life game series.
On March 24, 2010, while walking outside his home in Hollywood, Culp slipped and hit his head hard. The actor was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital, but the doctors were powerless. He passed away at the age of 79.
His grandson is Elmo Kennedy O'Conor, a popular rapper performing in the cloud rap genre under the pseudonym Bones.
