Born October 10, 1951, Beirut, Lebanon is an American film producer and actor.
In 1976, Mario Cassar, together with his partner Andrew Vaina, founded Carolco Pictures. The first success of the company was brought by the action movie "Rambo: First Blood" (1982). However, the most popular Kassar brought blockbusters with the participation of Arnold Schwarzenegger ("Total Recall", "Terminator 2").
In late 1989, Vaina left Carolco Pictures, selling his part to Mario Kassar, who has since become its sole owner.
The failure of Thugs Island and Showgirls brought the company to the brink of bankruptcy in 1995. 20th Century Fox bought Carolco Pictures from Cassar for $ 50 million. Mario Cassar has signed a three-year partnership with Paramount Pictures. In 2002, Cassar and Andrew Vine teamed up to create Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines.
