Susan graduated from Schaumburg High School in 1991. After graduating from high school, Levin moved to California from Illinois, where she graduated from the University of Southern California, Film / Television Department.
From 1988-1989, Susan worked as production coordinator for the famous soap opera Santa Barbara.
Since 2002 Susan has been producing films.
In June 2010, Susan and her husband announced the opening of their own production company, Team Downey.
