December 10, 1923 - September 11, 2010 - American actor.
In 1947 he graduated from the Albany College of Education (now the State University of New York at Albany). In 1953 he received his Ph.D. in art from Cornell University. He made his debut in 1955 as Thomas Jefferson in The Common Glory in Williamsburg, Virginia. 1956-1960 Professor of Dramatic Art at the University of California. He began his film career in 1959 with a cameo role in the film "The Untouchables". Then he began to play more significant roles: "The Hour of Alfred Hitchcock", "Dr. Kildare", "The Fugitive", "The Inner World of Daisy Clover", "I Dream of Jeannie" and others. Starred a lot in television series.
In 1975, he starred with Woody Allen in Love and Death as Prince Anton, then played the villain in Silent Movie directed by Mel Brooks, played in the TV series Family. The actor was nominated for an Emmy for roles in films: Rhoda, Mrs. Delafield Wants to Marry and Moviola. In the 1990s and 2000s, he starred in Dallas, Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, Cops on Bicycles, Mafia Requiem, King of Queens, The Master of Transformation, Freaky Friday and other popular films and TV series.
In addition to movies, he played in Broadway productions.
