April 20, 1924 - December 5, 2008 - Dutch American actress.
Her mother, American actress Consuela Flourton, returned to the United States with her young daughter after a divorce from her Dutch husband Dirk Foch. Her mother contributed to the emergence of artistic talent in Nina Foch: she studied the piano and was fond of the visual arts, and also showed a great interest in the theater.
In 1943, Nina Foch made her film debut and over the following years achieved great success, playing mainly the roles of cold, arrogant, as well as foreign women. In 1951, the actress appeared with Gene Kelly in the musical comedy An American in Paris, and later played the role of Libby Hanneman in the television series Theater 90 for a long time. In 1954, Nina Foch was nominated for an Oscar for her role in The Director's Room. Also successful her roles were Marie Antoinette in "Scaramouche" (1952), the daughter of Pharaoh Bithia in "Ten Commandments" (1956), and Elena Glabr in "Spartacus" (1960) .
Nina Foch was married three times. Her first husband was the actor James Lipton (1954-1959), the second Dennis Bright (1959-1963), from whom she gave birth to a son, and the third Michael Dewell (1967-1993). All three marriages ended in divorce.
In recent years, Nina Foch has lived in Beverly Hills, where she taught at the School of Motion Picture Arts and has also consulted with many Hollywood directors.
