Kris Kross is an American youth duo who worked in the direction of rap. The duo was formed in 1990 by two 13-year-old boys from Atlanta - Chris Kelly and Chris Smith. After a while, the teenagers were noticed by the young performer and producer Dupree, who completely turned their lives around. The young rappers signed a contract with the New York company Ruffhouse Records, after which the duo began an active musical career. The teenagers also took on stage names - Mac Daddy and Daddy Mac.
1992 was a significant year for the duo, as it was marked by the appearance of the first album - "Totally Krossed Out", which brought the performers recognition and enormous success. This collection includes the legendary composition Kris Kross - "Jump", which for several months topped the American hip-hop charts. The teenagers gained popularity very soon: they were invited to numerous television shows and even nominated for the Grammy and MTV Award ceremonies. Then the performers went on tour with Michael Jackson, performing as an opening act for the star. In 1993, a film was made with the participation of Kris Kross - Dangerous: The Short Films, where the rappers played themselves.
Following the debut, a year later, the second album was recorded under the promising title "Da Bomb", which seemed to the public quite different from the first.
