American rapper and film actor Earl Simmons, better known as DMX, hails from Mount Vernon. His father left the family, leaving his young son with his mother. Later, she gave Earl to a boarding school in the city of Yonkers, on the streets of which Simmons whiled away his young years. Here he from time to time hunted for petty crimes. Like adolescence, Earl's adult life is full of litigation. Simmons has been jailed for driving without a license, drug possession, cruelty to animals and other violations of the law.
