Born March 25, 1937, Tokyo, Empire of Japan (Japan) - Japanese voice actor, stage actor and director.
As a child, Shibata stuttered badly, so much so that he could not pronounce the name of his stop for a school bus driver. To overcome shyness and speech impediments, the young man decided to enter a drama studio.
While still in school, Hidekatsu took part in productions of traditional Japanese Kabuki theater. Later, the young man entered the acting department of the College of Arts at the University of Japan in Tokyo.
Shibata played on the stage of Kansai Kabuki for a while, but after the ruin of the theater he decided to try himself as a television actor. In the late 60s, he became a voice actor.
Shibata's film career began in the late 50s, but as a voice actor he became known only by the 80s of the 20th century.
