Born October 24, 1980, professionally known as Monica, is an American R&B singer, songwriter and slightly actress. She made her debut in 1995 under the direction of Dallas Austin's head of Rowdy Records and became the youngest recording artist to ever have two chart-topping hits on the American Billboard Hot R & B / Hip-Hop Songs chart in a row. This was followed by the huge success of "The Boy Is Mine," a duo with Brandy in 1998, with a series of hit recordings establishing her as one of the most successful new Urban R&B vocalists to emerge in the mid-late 1990s.
