Sid Haig is an American actor. Haig was born in Fresno, California and was raised in the Armenian community. His father, Hay Mosesian, was an electrician. Sid's career began somewhat by accident. At the age of seven, he danced in a children's Christmas show and later joined a vaudeville show. Haig also took a musical interest, especially in drums, encouraging his parents to buy him a drum kit, on which he mastered a wide range of musical styles, including country, jazz, blues, and rock and roll. He decided it was easy to make money from music and signed with a record company while still in high school.

When Haig was at this school, the head of the drama department encouraged him to pursue an acting career. Two years later, Haig enrolled at the Pasadena Playhouse, a school that raised such famous actors as Robert Preston, Dustin Hoffman, and Gene Hackman. He later moved to Hollywood with his longtime friend. Haig's first acting job was in Jack Hill's Los Angeles student film The Boss. Haig also became a regular cast member with production director Roger Corman. Fame became an award for his role as Sid Haig in Kill Bill 2, Jackie Brown, Point Blank. He appeared with George Lucas in the James Bond films. Haig retired in 1992. He was offered a role in Pulp Fiction, Quentin Tarantino's second film. At the time, Haig was concerned that a low television budget was ruining his career and, seeing the shooting script and its short duration, he did not go to the project. Says he always regretted it.

Then, in 1997, Tarantino wrote the role of Judge in Jackie Brown especially for Haig. In 2000, Sid starred in the film House of 1000 Corpses as Captain Spaulding. The role revived Haig's career and secured him an award for Best Supporting Actor. His portrayal of Captain Spaulding has become iconic in the modern horror genre. Haig played his role as Spaulding and later in the film The Devil's Banished. For this film, he won Best Actor at the 15th Annual Fangoria Chainsaw Awards, as well as the Baddest Villain at the first annual Spike TV Scream Awards with Leslie Easterbrook, Sheri Moon and Bill Mosley. Haig starred in the documentary Vampires. Sida Haiga's filmography contains more than 130 films.
