Norwegian actor Christoffer Yoner was born in Stavanger in September 1972. His parents separated when Kristoffer was a child. Yoner and his younger brother stayed with their mother. Their father died a few years later. Kristoffer has two famous uncles: actor Johannes Yoner and composer Sverre Indris Yoner. His cousin Knut Yoner is known in Norway as an actor. Kristoffer's father was an artist.
Yoner studied acting from the age of 14 in the children's studio at the Rogaland Theater in his hometown. Here Kristoffer studied until the early nineties, and then tried several times to become a student at the Norwegian National Theater Academy, but did not pass the selection. Despite these failures, the actor still managed to achieve fame.
A multi-part film with Christoffer Yoner, Off the Shelf, released in 1996, became the actor's first film career and immediately brought him success.
