Born September 12, 1951 in New Jersey into a simple family of Italian descent.
In 1987 he starred with Steven Spielberg in the small role of the warrior Frank Demrest in the film "Empire of the Sun" .
In 2003, Pantoliano replaced Stanley Tuckey in the Broadway production of Frankie and Johnny in the Moonlight. In the same year, he received an Emmy for Outstanding Performance as Ralph Cifaretto in the Sopranos Family TV series.
In October 2007, he made a public statement that the film "Canvas" put him into depression, and he intends to publicly help all people suffering from the same ailment. Chronically ill with dyslexia (inability to read).
