The pop singer and actress Laima Vaikule was born in 1954. Her only city is Cesis (Latvian SSR), but later the Laima family moved to Riga. At the age of 12, she took her first steps on the stage, participating in a vocal competition, and at the age of 15 she sang in the radio and television orchestra, led by Raimonds Pauls. In the 80s she graduated from GITIS (directing department), but continued her concert activity, performing songs by Pauls and Reznik.
