The future Honored Artist of Russia Viktor Shubin was born on September 30, 1945 in Leningrad. He studied at the technical school as a shipbuilder and played in the pioneer theater named after. P. Morozov. The famous actor Vladimir Pobol was his teacher. There he met future colleagues Elena Rakhlenko, Vladimir Osobik, Yuri Ovsyanko and others.

Since 1967, he tries himself on the stage of the regional drama theater of Kemerovo, and since 1969 he becomes one of the actors of the troupe of the Omsk Youth Theater. At the beginning of his career, Viktor Shubin starred in a cameo role in the famous Soviet film Farewell to a Slav. In 1979 he graduated from the acting department of the Kemerovo Institute of Culture. Since 1980 he has been performing on the stage of the Youth Theater on Fontanka, which is located in his hometown of Leningrad. Since 1990, he was listed in the cast of the Satire Theater on Vasilievsky.

For the role of Terkin, he was nominated for the USSR State Prize.
