Samuel Benchetri - biography, date of birth, place of birth, filmography, clips.
French writer, actor, screenwriter, director and stage director, was born on June 26, 1973 in Champigny-sur-Marne.
Born into a poor family (his father is a locksmith), he put an end to his studies at the age of 15, starting a professional life. He worked part-time wherever he could: as a photographer's assistant, a film cutter. In 2000, he published his first novel, The Tale of a Loafer. Having made two short films, in 2003 he realized the comedy "Janis et John", where he directed his companion Marie Trintignant. Samuel Benshetri keeps the painful memories of his youth that are the common theme in his novels, more and more personal. At the age of 33, he began his biography and in five volumes entitled Asphalt Chronicles "(Les Chroniques de l'Asphalte), the first volume was published in 2005, the second in 2007. The third book was published in 2010.
In 2008, he returned to the cinema with "I Always Dreamed of Becoming a Gangster", which won the Best Screenplay award at the 2008 Sundance Festival.
In 2009, he published a new novel, Le C?ur en dehors, which won a prize in 2009.
In 2011 he released his third film "Chez Gino" with Jose Garcia.
Samuel was the husband of Marie Trintignant, he is the father of her fourth and last son, Jules. He now lives with Anna Muglalis, with whom he has a daughter named Saul, who was born on March 7, 2007. They are on the poster for the movie "I Always Dreamed of Becoming a Gangster." His son Julius starred in his film "Chez Gino".
