Margarita Nazarova was born in November 1926 in the city of Pushkin. Her father worked as a forester, and her mother was a teacher. During the war, Margarita was interned in Germany, at that time she was fifteen years old. She studied German at school, so it was easier for her to communicate with Germans in Hamburg.
