Son of the artist Abram Solomonovich Veksler.
Since 1957 he worked at the Lenfilm film studio: assistant cameraman, operator of combined filming, director of photography.
He was married to actress Svetlana Kryuchkova.
He died of a second heart attack at the age of 52. He was buried at the Sestroretskoye cemetery in St. Petersburg.
