Nikolai Alekseevich Silchenko was born in Belgorod on December 27, 1934 (according to some sources, the actor was born on December 21). His parents were sedentary gypsies-servomis. The Great Patriotic War took the boy's childhood, many people close to him died, and in 1942 the Germans shot his father in front of Nicholas. After the end of the war, his family moved to the Voronezh region, where they settled on a collective farm. Everyone had to work, as well as the future star.
