Cecilia Vollerstein, better known under the pseudonym Mansurov, was born in 1897 in Moscow. Jewish by birth.
After graduating from school, Cecilia was enrolled in the law faculty of Kiev University, from which she graduated in 1919. On its stage, the roles of Cecilia Mansurova were played in productions based on the works of Shakespeare, Bulgakov, Schiller, Gorky, Chekhov, Tolstoy, Lermontov and other famous authors. Often Mansurova performed in tandem with the actor Ruben Simonov. Their brilliant duet remained a symbol of the Vakhtangov Theater for many years.
Since 1925, the artist began teaching at the Theater School, and in 1946 she received a professor's degree. During the Second World War, Cecilia Mansurova became the artistic director of the front department of the theater. Vakhtangov.
