An outstanding contemporary composer, author of hundreds of musical themes for various films, Ennio Morricone was born back in 1928 in the Italian capital. His father was a professional musician - jazz trumpeter. The eldest son followed in his father's footsteps. At the age of nine, he entered the Rome Conservatory. He received three diplomas there - in trumpet, orchestra and composition.

He began his career as a trumpet player in his father's ensemble, then began working as a musician in the theater. Soon Morricone became a composer in the same theater.
