Russian and Soviet theater and film actor Konstantin Skorobogatov hails from the village of Aleksandrovskoye, located in the St. Petersburg province. He was born in 1887. At the age of ten, he graduated from the zemstvo parish school.
From 1897 to 1905, Konstantin worked at the Obukhov plant, where he simultaneously attended technical school lessons. In 1903 he entered the St. Petersburg Forestry Institute. Soon Skorobogatov began to act as an amateur actor on improvised scenes. A little later, Konstantin became a professional actor. Throughout his career, he performed on many theater stages in various Soviet cities.
Since 1917, Konstantin got a job at the Comedians' Halt Theater, and a year later he became an artist and director of the Saratov Provincial Theater. From 1922 to 1925 Skorobogatov worked at the Lunacharsky Theater, then moved to the Red Theater in Irkutsk. In 1926, Konstantin joined the troupe of the Leningrad Theater of Builders. The next place of work for the artist was the Gorky Theater, and after him - the Leningrad Academic Drama Theater, in which he went from actor to director.
Over the entire period of his performances, the artist has played in such productions as the Zykovs (as Antipa Zykov), Storm (as the Brother), Slava (as Professor Chernykh), Krechinsky's Wedding (as Fedor), Lenin (as Lenin), Hot Heart (as Gradoboev) and many others. The first film with Konstantin Skorobogatov - Nikolai Lebedev's war drama Fedka - was released in 1936. In it, the actor got the role of Colonel Stepanov.
