All-Union recognition will come to the artist after the role of Nikolai Kutuzov in the legendary biographical film Andrei Rublev (1966). This film story told about the times of Russia at the beginning of the XV, when the state, mired in internecine wars, disappeared from hunger and constant raids of the Tatars.
