People's Artist of the Soviet Union Mikhail Astangov came to this world on November 3, 1900 in the city of Warsaw, now the Republic of Poland. The future actor was born into a family of ordinary workers under the name Ruzhnikov. His dad held a position at a railway junction. After graduating from high school, Mikhail applied for the legal department at Moscow University and successfully passed the selection. In parallel with his studies, Astangov participated in amateur performances, while taking lessons in theatrical skills from actress Anna Matveeva. As a result, Mikhail liked the art of reincarnation so much that after graduating from university, in 1920, he continues to study at the Shalyapin Theater-Studio.

It was on the stage of this theater that Astangov played his first significant roles. Further, his career developed as part of the troupe of actors of the Moscow Drama Theater named after Valentina Komissarzhevskaya, in which he worked from 1923 to 1925. After he was invited to work at the Odessa Theater, at the Kazan Theater, at the Theater of the People's House in Leningrad. For a long time, from 1930 to 1941, Astangov collaborated with the Theater of the Revolution in Moscow. The last place of work, from 1945 to the last days of the actor's life, was the Vakhtangov Theater-Studio.

Solovyov - Personal life, the role of Arseny in the play Victory Road, Insarov in the production The Eve, Mac Hill in the play Conspiracy of the Doomed, the role of Osinsky in the play Unusual, imaginative carriage duty staged Twelfth Hour. On the stage of the Vakhtangov Theater, Mikhail played his last role - the image of Pervozvanov in the play Black Birds.
