Nina Mamaeva was born in Omsk on August 8, 1923. When the actress was 2 years old, her parents moved to Novosibirsk, where little Nina studied in an art education house. In 1941, after graduating from school, she went to work at a radio installation plant. But a year later, the Leningrad Theater Institute was temporarily evacuated to Novosibirsk, and the actress went to the entrance exams, which she successfully passed. In 1946, already in Leningrad, Nina Mamaeva graduated from the institute. In her diploma work, the actress played Sonya in a play based on Chekhov's play "Uncle Vanya". After graduating from the training, the actress was immediately taken to the Theater of the Young Spectator. In this theater, the actress won her first fame. Numerous posters trumpeted the premiere of the play "Romeo and Juliet", in which Nina Vasilievna played the main character - Juliet.
In 1951, the first film with Nina Mamaeva, Belinsky, was released. In the motion picture, the actress played the wife of the revolutionary democrat Vissarion Belinsky. In 1954, the actress was invited to play the role of Ophelia in the Drama Theater named after Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin. After playing the role, the actress leaves the Theater of the Young Spectator and until the end of her days works in the theater of drama, where she played more than 100 roles. In 1956, the actress played a minor role in the film by Mikhail Shapiro - The Seekers. The next year, Nina Mamaeva became an Honored Artist of the RSFSR. In 1958, the actress played in two films - Abyss and In the days of October.
