He became one of the brightest representatives of the baroque era, unsurpassed in its kind, being known not only as a talented musician, but also as the creator of the instrumental concert genre, the founder of orchestral program music. The great composer was born in Venice in 1678. His father was a virtuoso violinist, so that enchanting music surrounded Antonio from early childhood.
From his father he also receives the first lessons, but later decides to link his fate with the church: having tonsured a monk at the age of 15, he soon becomes a deacon, and then a priest.
Despite the priesthood, music continues to captivate Vivaldi - for example, since 1703 he has been giving his first violin lessons, and three years later, for the first time, Antonio Vivaldi could be seen at a public performance, when the musician played several compositions in front of the French ambassadors.
In 1713, Antonio Vivaldi was appointed manager of the Venice Conservatory of Pieta. It was this period that became the crown of all his work. Already in 1725 he presented the cycle The Art of Harmony and Invention (by the way, this also included his legendary concerts, called the Seasons). The music, characteristic of this stage of the author's life, was filled with tragedy, the parts for the violin were especially distinguished - they were truly virtuoso.
In 1740 Antonio left Venice and moved to Vienna, where, due to the prevailing political mood at that time, the composer's work and life were forgotten. So he died at the age of 63: lonely, sick, abandoned by everyone. Noting his invaluable contribution to art, it can be noted that Antonio Vivaldi 2015 is not only a national treasure of Italy, but also a musical symbol of global culture, known and revered in all corners of the planet.
