Was born on February 17, 1925 in Moscow.
In 1941-1945 he worked as a turner and shift foreman at one of the Moscow factories.
In 1949 he graduated from the Theater School named after M.S. Shchepkin and became an actor of the A.S. Pushkin.
In 1950-1989 he was a leading actor at the Moscow Theater of Satire.
He starred in films in small roles of diplomats and scientists. In six films he played the People's Commissar Lunacharsky.
For several years Rodion Alexandrov was married to actress Svetlana Kharitonova. Together they hunted, fished, and traveled.
He passed away on May 28, 1993 in Moscow.
