She was born on February 12, 1955 in the city of Kuldiga, Latvia.
Father is Russian and mother is Latvian. Graduated from the theater department of the Latvian State Conservatory (1976).
Selezneva changed her last name to her grandmother's (maiden's). The grandmother was a noblewoman, the first mention of her ancestors (kings / chiefs of Courland) Tontegode in 1320 in the deed of the Livonian Order (confirmation of privileges and obligations).
The first appearance on the screen was in 1971 in an episode of the television movie "The Last Voyage of the Albatross".
Since 1980 she has been an actress at the Lenfilm film studio.
