The path to cinema for the native Muscovite Ivan Vasilyevich Bobrov (02/07/1904) was not easy. In 1917, he graduated from the City Primary School and was hired as a transport agent. In 1920, Ivan Bobrov was approved for the position of a forwarding agent for the People's Commissariat for Forestry, and later worked in Rustrans.

Bobrov made his film debut in 1925. A young and prominent guy played in the episode the role of a sailor in the film Battleship Potemkin. This fact became a turning point in the life of the actor. He decides to become a real actor and enters the acting school at Mosfilm, while continuing to actively act in films. During the war, Ivan Vasilyevich was an actor in a film studio in Tashkent. During the war period Bobrov starred in the Sea Hawk (1941) - the fireman Vanya, in the television movie Alexander Parkhomenko (1942) he played the anarchist Cherednyak, in the Duel (1944) - the saboteur Ivan Kutyrin. In 1945, the film Fifteen-year-old Captain with I. Bobrov as King Muani-Lung was released on the country's cinema screens.

Ivan Bobrov was seriously involved in boxing, worked as a trainer at MPSO "Dynamo" and was a medalist of the Moscow City Boxing Championship. Therefore, it is quite logical that in the sports tragicomedy directed by V. Gonchukov, Boxers (1941), the actor convincingly played "Big Jack".

Since 1948 I. Bobrov worked as an actor at the Moscow Film Actor Theater. In the postwar years, he plays the role of Ovechkin in Spring, the chairman of a collective farm in the Kuban Cossacks, Voronov in the Unforgettable 1919.

The last film with Ivan Bobrov was directed by V. Petrov. The actor played his final role as a coach of a football team in the comedy Sporting Honor (1951).
