Semyon Samodur was born in 1911. When he was 19 years old, he began studying in the studio of Pavel Pavlinsky. After studying there for a year, Semyon Samodur studied at the Izogiz publishing college for two years. In 1933 he embarked on a career as an actor. True, he did it with some difficulty. Sergei Obraztsov for a long time did not take him to his theater troupe, because the actor had problems with diction, he did not pronounce the letter "l" well. But the director liked Semyon's persistence and talent, and therefore he somehow offered him a summer assignment. It consisted in the fact that the actor went to a speech therapist and eliminated speech defects. But the actor somehow did not have enough time for this. And when the new theatrical season began in the fall, Sergei Obraztsov called the actor into the office and asked him if he had eliminated his speech problems. So, Semyon Samodur, without thinking twice, clearly said: "Cor-r-ditch, r-r-homeland." Sergei Obraztsov completely forgot what exactly his problems with speech took place, so he was very glad that the actor coped with the task and immediately enrolled him in his troupe. The main roles of Semyon Samodur are the role of the Creator in the delivery of The Divine Comedy and the role of the Devil in the production of The Night Before Christmas. Semyon Samodur began to stage productions himself since 1947 at the Central Puppet Theater in Moscow. His first independent productions were The Tale of Tsar Saltan and The Magic Galosh. Semyon was also involved in cinema, the film with Semyon Samodur - Among a Thousand Roads, was released in 1983. Over time, in 1973, at the request of the USSR State Television and Radio Broadcasting, a television version of the Divine Comedy performance was filmed. Its directors were not only Sergei Obraztsov, and Semyon Samodur. Together they also worked on such productions as Cat's House and My Only Mine. Semyon also voiced roles in cartoons. The most famous are Dunno in the Sun City and Peer Gynt. Semyon Samodur died in 1991.
