Graduated from GITIS in 1969 (course of Anatoly Efros). He made his debut as a production director in 1968 with his thesis "Dance Teacher" by Lope de Vega at the Ryazan Drama Theater.
In the 1970s. staged on Moscow stages "The Singing Sands" by B. Lavrenkov (Mossovet Theater), "In order of deception" by Agniya Barto (MTYUZ) .
1977 to 1995 - Director of the Lenkom Theater. Among his performances: "Dear Pamela" by D. Patrick and G.I. Gorin, "Pocket Theater" by J. Cocteau, "The Bremen Town Musicians" by G. Gladkov and V. Livanov, "Romulus the Great" by F. Durrenmatt.
Collaborated with "Independent Entreprise": "Men's Season" N. Demchik, "Sylvia" A. Gurney.
Since 2002, he has been fruitfully working on television: the series Poor Nastya (2003), Dear Masha Berezina (2004), The Zone (2006), Autonomics (2006), Medical Secret (2006).
