Bernes did not stop working in cinema, with a short break in the mid-50s of the last century, until his last days. In total, Mark Bernes' filmography includes fifty films in which he played, sang, and voiced.

Has the title of People's Artist of the RSFSR (1965), was awarded the Stalin Prize (1951).

Was in two marriages. The first wife, Polina Linetskaya (1932-1956) gave birth to a daughter, Natasha (1953). The second wife is Lilia Bodrova (1960-1969).
