Spartak Vasilyevich Mishulin is a native Muscovite. He was raised by one mother, and received an unusual name for hearing at the insistence of his uncle, a historian specializing in the ancient Roman period.

During the Great Patriotic War, Spartak Mishulin studied at the artillery school, where he organized amateur performances. He was the director of the village House of Culture of the Kalinin (now Tver) region, worked in several provincial theaters. Admission to GITIS was not crowned with success, but ten years later, after working in the Kalinin and Omsk drama theaters, while on tour in Moscow, he received an offer to become an actor in three metropolitan theaters at once. And Mishulin made his choice - from 1962 until the end of his life he served at the Satire Theater.

The roles of Spartak Mishulin on the stage were very diverse - from Ostap Bender in the Golden Calf to the Cook in Mamasha Courage and her children, but Carlson, who lives on the roof, became his hallmark. The actor has lived this image on stage about two thousand times over more than 30 years.

The film Interview in Spring (1962) became his film debut. His first major role - Leshy, played in a musical fairy tale At the thirteenth hour of the night (1968). The film White Sun of the Desert (1969) brought the actor huge popularity. The terse Said became one of the vivid images of the adventure picture. In the mean words of the role, which was specially reduced, moving away from the flowery and ornate form of speech of an oriental person, Spartak Vasilyevich managed to accommodate a lot. This is the rarest case when reticence is more important than words. And in the role of Pan Director from the tavern "13 chairs" (1968-1981), he shone on the television screen for about fifteen years. And all this time he was able to find unexpected facets of his hero, without splitting his whole image.

Total Spartak Mishulin filmography includes more than eighty pictures. He filmed until the last days, and two works with his participation - the film story On the River Device and the comedy Aziris Nuna came out after the death of the actor in 2006.

In an official marriage with Valentina Konstantinovna Mishulina, a daughter, Karina, was born (1979).

He died on July 17, 2005.
