Kirill Pirogov was born in Tehran, his father worked in the field of commercial construction, exporting and importing heavy economic equipment.
As a child, Kirill studied in a theater studio under the direction of Sergei Kazarnovsky, graduated from a music school. Parents saw the future for him in a more serious profession and wanted their son to study at the university. However, the decision had already been made and in 1994 Kirill graduated from the Shchukin School (course of Vladimir Ivanov). Then he received an offer to play in the theater "Workshop P. Fomenko" (and became the first one who was taken to the theater "from the outside").
Pirogov's debut in cinema took place in 1995, where he played the main role in Georgy Danelia's film "Heads and Tails", but the actor's real popularity was brought by the role of Ilya Setevoy in the film "Brother 2" by Alexei Balabanov.
In 1996 he received the Critics' Award for Best Actor's Film Debut at the Gatchina Film Festival (for the film Eagle and Tails).
In 2004 he became a laureate of the Triumph youth prize.
Winner of the Seagull Theater Award in the Main Hero nomination - for the role of Beranger in the play Rhinoceros.
Laureate of the KS Stanislavsky in the category "Actor's skill" (male role). The official award ceremony took place on December 17 at the Workshop.
