Graduated from the theater department of the Lithuanian Conservatory (1957).
In 1956-1963 he was an actor of the Kapsuk Drama Theater.
Since 1963 - an actor of the Klaipeda Drama Theater.
In cinema since 1968.
His wife is a Lithuanian theater actress Julia Sakalaite (born 1946).
