Born November 22, 1960 in the Paris suburb of Suresnes in a French and American family. The pseudonym Leos Carax is an anagram composed of his names Alex and Oscar. Almost nothing is known about the life of the director, since he rarely gives interviews. According to rumors, Karax dropped out of school early, worked as a poster maker and has no directing education.
Carax's first full-length film was Boy Meets Girl (1984), in which his girlfriend Mireille Perrier starred.
