Graduated from the theater studio of N. N. Khodotov (1930). Until 1933 - an actor in the theaters of Pskov, Novgorod, Arkhangelsk, Vologda, in 1933-1942 - an actor in the Leningrad Music Hall and the Theater of Miniatures, since 1942 - in the Theater Studio of the Film Actor.
He was buried in Moscow at the 129th section of the Vostryakovsky cemetery.
